Research Interests
Applied Electrochemistry and Resource Chemistry —Energy Storage, Electro-catalysis, Catalyst design, Recycling of waste battery resources.
Batteries and Supercapacitors. Our research group mainly conducts research on various batteries, including lithium-ion batteries, zinc-ion batteries and sodium-ion batteries. We synthesize various electrode materials to improve the energy density of the battery by adjusting the surface structure and interface effect of the materials. At the same time, we study the characteristics of battery electrolyte, develop new electrolyte, electrolyte modification, improving the performance of the battery. In addition, we also conduct research on MOF-derived carbon materials for supercapacitors to improve the specific capacity and cycle performance of electrodes.
In terms of electro-catalysis, our research group mainly conducts researches on electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution, oxygen evolution and carbon dioxide reduction in alkaline and sodium carbonate solution. Various electrocatalytic materials are synthesized and the mechanism of material interfacial structure on electrocatalytic effect are studied.
In resource chemistry area, we are interested in exploring new hydrometallurgical technology to recycle high-value product from waste batteries such as discarded lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries. In addition, we also carry out research on the recovery of pyrolytic carbon black (CBp) from waste tires, which is applied to the fields of tire remanufacturing, sodium-ion batteries and supercapacitors through the modification of CBp.
