In order to implement the theme of "Prevention first, life first" in 2023 National Fire Publicity Month, the School of Chemistry successfully held a fire safety drill for Grade 2022 undergraduates in Changping Campus on November 17, 2023.
The activity was divided into three parts: First, Mr. Wang Dong, head of the Security Section, explained the importance of fire safety and the use of fire facilities. Subsequently, the students learned the use of spray, eye wash, fire blanket and protective sandbox in the laboratory in the Chemistry Experiment Teaching Center, and completed the evacuation simulation exercise. Finally, the teacher of the security department explained the operation specifications of fire extinguishers, and the students carried out practical exercises on dry powder fire extinguishers.
Deputy Director Xiang Weixi, the commander of the activity, commented on the exercise and called on teachers and students to continuously improve their awareness of fire safety and laboratory safety.
