On September 16, 2024, Stanford University released the list of the world's top 2% scientists for 2024. The list is based on the citation data system analysis of the Scopus database, with six comprehensive indicators such as the number of citations, H index, and HM factor. It selects the top 2% of scientists in the world from nearly 7 million scientists based on "career influence" and "annual influence", divided into 22 fields and 174 subfields. It strives to provide a measure of scientists' long-term research performance, with a view to more objectively and realistically reflecting the academic influence of scientists. The list is mainly divided into two lists: "career-long impact" and "single-year impact". A total of 10,687 scientists from mainland China were selected in the "World's Top 2% Scientists List", accounting for 4.92%.
62 scholars from Beijing University of Chemical Technology are selected into the "Lifetime Science Influence List", ranking 38th among universities in mainland China, among which 19 scholars from the College of Chemistry are selected; 144 scholars from Beijing University of Chemical Technology are selected into the "2023 Annual Science Influence List", ranking 43rd among universities in mainland China, among which 33 scholars from the College of Chemistry are selected.
